POSITION FUNCTION

Perform custodial and janitorial functions at city owned buildings and facilities.

KEY DUTIES

Vacuum, shampoo carpets, wet and dry mop, strip, wax and polish floors, dust, clean, sanitize and disinfect surfaces. Dispose of refuse, recyclable and green waste materials; operate various custodial equipment such as auto scrubbers, burnisher, carpet cleaner steamer, wet vacuum, regular vacuums, defoamer, upholstery steamer, power washers, leaf blowers, sweeper push along, Clorox 360 and EMist and perform minor servicing as required.

Open and close various City owned buildings. Move furniture and equipment; set up meeting rooms as required and help with event set up; raise and lower flags as required; Clean sidewalks and outside stairs; remove snow and ice accumulations by shoveling or applying environmental ice melter.

Report required building repairs; fill out order forms to replenish inventory; stock custodian closets, washrooms with janitorial products, respond to service building requests as required.

Perform related duties where qualified.
